Services

Benefits

1.  Residential Care, Seven Days a Week  

Prevents homelessness and unnecessary hospitalization.  Provides safety and security and improves general health.


2.  Provision of Nutritional Services and Meals Better nutrition avoids physical "wasting" and maximizes the positive effects of medication, thus improving health.

3.  Coordination of Medical Services
    (a) Assistance in obtaining medication Residents receive medications previously unavailable.
   (b) Coordination of physician's care and the provision of transportation Residents receive better care when all services are monitored and transportation is available.
   (c)  Medication is administered and monitored and residents are educated about their medications. Improved medication compliance increases its effectiveness and reduces the risk of developing drug resistance.
   (d)  Coordination of ancillary services such as physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.  
Services are tailored to meet the specific physical and psychological needs of individual residents.

 

4.  Provision of pastoral care services, support of regular church attendance, and visits by local pastors and trained counselors. Residents and their families are given the opportunity to address spiritual and emotional issues.

5.  Coordination of recreational and social activities for residents. Activities enhance the physical and psychological well being of residents.

6.  Coordination of the Volunteer Program Interaction between residents and volunteers favorably affects both groups and the overall community.
7.  Health Education for college interns and high school students  

High school and college students increase their level of knowledge regarding AIDS and share their experiences in the community.


8.  Case Management services for discharging residents to their home communities. Residents are assisted in finding and securing apartments and establishing ongoing support systems for their care following discharge.
